My 35th Show
A really solid show. Excellent first set, in terms of both song choices and performances. Pocky Way & Big Boss Man are right up my alley. They could’ve ended at Cassidy, but thankfully kept going on with West LA and Let It Grow. Same goes for the second set. Strong performances for the most part. When I first listened to this show, I wasn’t totally impressed - you know, good but not great. I went on to listen in a bunch of 1988 shows, and then circled back around for this run and IMO the playing here is stronger and more inspired in comparison. I didn’t have a NYE ticket, so my buddy and I went to the Kaiser to see Stevie Ray Vaughan, Tower of Power, Junior Walker & the All-Stars in The Paladins. We were the first people in the hall, but that’s another story.

Holy Dew!
Wow what a smoker! Nice Morning Dew. Jerry wasn't worn out for this one at all. Damn, chilling!

"We're just going to have to deal with it."
Wow, nice show with a lot of problems! Almost like someone spiked the punch a night early or something. A lot of blown lyrics, right out of the gate with Brent, all the way to the end with a very tired sounding Jerry. Plus I've read other reviews about the sound problems this night too.
Highlights inclued, a pretty good first set, nice Samson jam between a rough start and partial train wreck ending, and a sweet Dew! Seriously, this one's got heart and a lot of it.
The only reason I give this anywhere near four stars is: it's the New Year's run, the Samson jam, and the Dew. Otherwise this is a three at best.
